MOUNT House played Kelly College at three age levels last week.

Mount House U12s won the toss, elected to bat and went about their task in a determined fashion. Despite slipping to 40-3, the team declared on 159 for 4 (32 overs).

Phil Downie continued his fine run to score an unbeaten 42 and was supported by Ollie Essex (45) and Finlay MacLaren (21no).

Kelly U13s lost early wickets to slump to 16 for 3 off 9 overs then ?shut up shop? with a possible 23 overs left. They held out for a draw, being 57 for 7 (32 overs) at stumps.

Played at Kelly Junior School, the U11 match was a limited overs affair which Mount House won by 110 runs. Mount House scored 124 runs in their allotted time, losing only five wickets. Richard Sanders dominated the batting with an undefeated 58 that included six boundaries.

Kelly found the Mount House bowlers on top form. Robert Pryde took three wickets in his opening over, while Ed O?Neill and William Steed took two apiece to reduce Kelly to 14 all out.

The U9 match resulted in a Mount House win by 145 runs. In U9 pairs cricket each side starts with 200 runs and adds runs as scored, but loses them as wickets fall.

Batting first, Mount House scored 324 runs. Tommy Lyon-Smith (23), William Wells (23) and Julian Bertie (14) all batted well, but it was Mikey Cousens? 48 off 18 balls that pushed the score beyond Kelly?s reach.

Freddie Jayarajah set Mount House on the way to victory by clean bowling the Kelly openers in his opening over. Further wickets fell to Julian Bertie, Robert McPherson, Mikey Cousens, William Wells and Tommy Lyon-Smith. Tommy Lyon-Smith made two outstanding catches.
