THE rugby matches between Mount House School first and second XVs and Kelly College U13s teams both resulted in victories for the Mount House sides.
With a chance to continue an unbeaten streak, it took Mount House one minute to score their first try. A scrum on the 10-metre line saw Ben Hoolash pick up and run down the blind side to score under the posts. The dominance of the Mount House forwards allowed the backs to pass the ball. By half time, the visitors were 33-7 up, and tries for Will Partington, Louis Smith and Oliver Rose after the interval kept the score ticking over. The 55-7 victory to Mount House — was a reward for their best all-round performance of the season.
For the first few minutes of the second XV match could have gone either way, but a strong drive by the pack led to Rory Millar scoring his first try for Mount House. This was followed by a number of fluent back moves leading to a powerful run and score by Jack Leigh and a swerving score by debutant William Stone. By half time, Mount House were ahead 34-0 after further tries from skipper Charlie MacEacharn (2) and centre Oscar Norris. In the second half, two tries from Max Hayward and a second from Rory Millar completed an emphatic 56-5 win.
In the Colts' matches, the A team clash resulted in a win for Kelly by 14-0. The Mount House defence tackled well, but were unable to stop Kelly scoring two good tries to seal their victory.
The Colts B game resulted in a 54-0 win for Mount House with tries from Jack Sharp (3), Hunter Strand (2), George Stubbs, Spencer Williams and Finlay Rose. Seven of them were converted by Hunter Strand.
