MOORLAND Ladies' Darts League held their presentation night on Saturday at the Red and Black Club in Tavistock.

The league held three charity events this year: a darts-based night, a quiz night and a bingo night.

They were fun evenings which helped to raise almost as much as the league did last year.

The darts charity night was won by Michelle Fisher of the Prince of Wales with a final score of 603. Runner-up was Cheryl Downham of the Royal British Legion A team with a score of 544.

The Dartmoor Rescuers are the charity the league has chosen to help again this year. A cheque for £600 was presented to Lynda Williams and Adrian Arnold of the Dartmoor Rescuers.

The evening continued with the presentation of league trophies, with the following results for the 2009-2010 season:

League winners, Callington Social Club; runners-up, Market Traders. Knock-out Cup winners, Market Traders; runners-up, Callington Social Club. In the threes competitions Jan Dean, Jill Hodge and Kerry Harris of the Market Traders won in the final against Carolyn Jury, Brenda Pysden and Belinda Adams, also of the Market Traders, who received the runners-up trophy.

In the mixed doubles competition Gill Edge-Downing and Mickey Cole of the Prince of Wales won the final match. Wendy Cann and Richard Ball of Callington Social Club were runners-up.

In the doubles competition Michelle Fisher and Sally Sinclair of the Prince of Wales won the final match, Phyl Freeman and Theresa Parr of Callington Social Club were runners-up.

In the singles' competition Charlotte Wiseman of the Royal British Legion B team won and Wendy Cann of Callington Social Club was runner-up.

The Captain's Cup was won by Sue Cork of the Red and Black Club and runner-up was Jan Dean of the Market Traders. The Handicap Trophy was won by Victoria Social Club A team.

The Plume of Feathers was nominated as the Most Sporting Team. The award for the Highest Shot Out went to Tanya Edwards of the Cornish Inn with a score of 112. The award for the Highest Shot Away went to Margaret Vowden of the Cornish Inn with a score of 150.

The award for the Highest Score was won jointly by Patsy Phillips of the Red and Black Club and Carolyn Jury of the Market Traders with a score of 174. The award for the Most Individual Wins went to Jan Dean of the Market Traders with 20 wins out of 22 games.

The award for the Most Individual Tons went to Vicky Gale of the Cornish Inn with a total of 28 tons. Callington Social Club won the award for the Most Team wins with 47 wins out of 66. Callington Social Club also won the award for the Most Team Tons with 86 tons out of a total of 634 tons.

Anna Johnson of the Royal British Legion A-team, Tanya Edwards of the Cornish Inn and Michelle Fisher of the Prince of Wales all received an award for scoring 180 in a league match.

Once they finished presenting the trophies members tucked into a three course meal cooked by June and the staff at the Red and Black Club.
