THE Veterans' Championship was held at Yelverton Golf Club in fine weather.
The scratch winner was Mike Ayres with gross 77 while the nett winner was Dennis Voisin with 70.
Last Wednesday the vets played a three ball competition — two scores to count.
The winners were, Phil James, David Kiver and Mike Allan, scoring a superb 83 points. They were closely followed by Brendon McVeigh, David Williams and Richard Gard, who tied with Keith Marshall, Derek Maughan and Ray Hutchinson with 81pts; third place went to Mike Martin, Mike Bates and Bob Griffin scoring 80pts. There were seven two's.
The vets played an away match with Bude Golf Cub in North Cornwall. The weather was excellent and a good day was had by all with the home team winning 5-1.
