I ATTENDED and fully supported the public meeting at the Ockment Centre, However, I am disgusted at the behaviour displayed by Cllr James McInnes, Cllr Diana Moyse and Cllr Christine Marsh regarding the substitution of Cllr Marsh.
Can the people of Okehampton and Tavistock have any respect for these three councillors? I rather think not. Cllr McInnes made it clear, as did Cllr Moyse, that Cllr Marsh could have attended the meeting of the core strategy and placed her vote, however, she didn't.
I felt very proud to see such a big turnout out for this meeting, it was well organised and very well supported by the public, and this should send out a clear precise message to the borough council and the councillors that from now on the public of Okehampton and Tavistock will continue to fight for our towns and there is no doubt that we will see a lot more public meetings like this one.
This is now just the begining and the people whom councillors work for will see that the members of the community will no longer be sitting back letting more mistakes being made by our councillors.
I hope Cllr McInnes, Cllr Moyse and Cllr Marsh all step down from the council as, quite honestly, the trust has now gone.
I think people thought this would all go away, but it won't ever go away until the public know where it all went wrong and, most importantly, why.
