THE recent wet weather did not dampen the fun last week as Mayor of Tavistock, Cllr Mandy Govier, opened the Funlands Funfair in the Meadows.

The mayor was encouraged to sample a few of the fair rides and particularly enjoyed the dodgems.

Cllr Govier expressed thanks to Dean Bailey, owner of Funlands, for his warm welcome and providing Tavistock with a fun event.

Even with the April showers, the fair has attracted plenty of customers. It is open daily from 1pm to 8pm until Sunday, April 11. Admission is free, rides £1.
