A NEW chamber of commerce website offering Tavistock businesses which do not have their own internet facilities the opportunity to advertise on-line was launched last week.

The website, which has been developed over the last 12 months, was formally launched on Friday by Tavistock town mayor Norma Woodcock.

Philip Hartnoll, chairman of the Chamber, said: ?This will be an opportunity for those businesses in Tavistock which do not have their own web facilities to reach out to the worldwide community, as well as giving them an opportunity to advertise themselves electronically.

?All Chamber members are welcome to put an entry on the website,? said Mr Hartnoll.

?We are particularly excited about this venture as it is a facility which will benefit not only the town centre traders, but also those working on the trading estates and other outlying areas.

Speaking at the launch in the Pannier Market, Cllr Woodcock said: ?Tavistock is not just about tourism, it is also about business, and this website will be a major boost for trade.?
