INTRODUCING the rabbits to the public is all part of the fun for the section's secretary Will Dodge from Okehampton.

Will said: 'After the judging the fun part is when the rabbits have a little run on the table and let the public pick them up, stroke them and children give them a cuddle. At this show we really try to encourage and involve the public with the animals rather than have people come to the marquee and just walk around and see them in a cage.'

Members of the Rabbit Welfare Association were also at hand to give advice on how to look after the furry creatures.

It was a very good entry with 100 rabbits, just up from last year. What is especially pleasing for organisers is that six juniors entered their rabbits — something that is encouraging for the future of the section.
