A CREDITON pensioner has written a children's story book, about an orphan lamb and his adventures with his friends.

Margaret Tucker decided to write the book back in the spring for two reasons. Firstly for her three great grandchildren, Kaide aged six, Emilia, four, and Jack, two —  and also to celebrate her 75th birthday as she said she didn't fancy doing a parachute jump or a wing walk!

The book, a paperback, has been beautifully illustrated by well known artist Robert Logan. It costs £4. 50 and is aimed at children aged two to seven years old.

Margaret said she greatly enjoyed writing  the stories, and expressed her thanks to Robert Logan for the superb illustrations.

The book has six separate short stories about Charley the orphaned lamb,  telling how he lived with a farmer after being orphaned, how he saved the chicken from a wicked fox, how he met Lucy the goose, and how they knocked postman Bill off his bike.

And of course, there is a happy ending!

Margaret is well known locally for her work as a news correpondent and photographer for local papers, she is also president of Sandford WI, plays skittles, tennis and table tennis.

She often played table tennis at the Okehampton Centre, as a member of the QECC Team.

Margaret's books are available at the Crediton Courier office, the Crediton book shop, Evans News, and Sandford Stores, or from her direct,   and can be personally signed.
