ROTARIAN Alan Haw from Stoke on Trent recently stopped over in Tavistock on his bid to raise money for WaterAid.

Alan was undertaking 10 marathons in 12 days — finishing in Plymouth. During his visit to Tavistock he was greeted by Tavistock Rotarians David Incoll — presenting Alan with a memento from the club — and host John Morton and Duncan Gibbs.

Last year marathon man Alan raised £8,500 running to Bournemouth for WaterAid.

The international charity works to help some of the poorest communities in Africa help themselves. The object is for them to gain a better quality of life through water, sanitation and hygiene education projects.

WaterAid is working in fifteen countries in Africa and Asia. There are billions of people throughout the world without clean water or sanitation, which impacts on people's health and quality of life.
