TAVISTOCK'S home-grown marathon man, Adam Holland, took time out of his busy schedule to attend a coffee morning in his honour at the mayor's parlour last week.

Mayor of Tavistock Cllr David Whitcomb invited Adam, 23, to the coffee morning along with Cllrs Ted Sanders and Anne Johnson, in acknowledgement of his running achievements and his record of being the youngest person to have completed 100 marathons.

Cllr Whitcomb said: 'Adam has achieved such a great deal for such a young man. He obviously has running in his blood and we thought we would congratulate him on his achievements on behalf of the people of Tavistock.'

Adam told the mayor and councillors of his love for running, the many marathons he has taken part in and his hopes for the future.
