BUS passengers in Yelverton are set to benefit from a major improvement scheme which aims to provide better facilities. A new metal and glass shelter and new seats are being installed, the kerbs are being raised to help passengers get on and off buses and the surrounding footpaths will be resurfaced. Local county councillor Gretta Madigan said: ?Yelverton is a busy bus stop and gets more than its fair share of rain, so I am sure passengers will be delighted to have a good bus shelter. ?The new outdoor seat will be useful for anyone who would like to stop for a while ? not just bus travellers. ?The raised kerbs will be a great help as many users are elderly or have shopping, buggies and young children to lift on and off the bus.? The cycle-stands at the shelter will be retained.
