VOTERS at next month's Devon County and European elections are being advised to double check where their polling station is when they receive their polling cards.
West Devon Borough Council, which is organising the elections, has found new venues for polling stations so that local schools are not disrupted on election day on Thursday June 4.
Lifton's church hall and Princetown's new village centre are new polling stations for the election. Previously the schools in each area were used.
There are also changes in Dousland too. The Burrator Inn is the new polling station replacing the temporary mobile unit used previously.
The deadline to ensure that names are on the electoral register and to apply for a postal vote has now passed.
However, West Devon's electoral services department is reminding voters that they can still appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf but must request an application form as soon as possible.
All applications to appoint a proxy must reach the West Devon elections office by 5pm on Wednesday May 27. Address all applications to Electoral Services, West Devon Borough Council, Kilworthy Park, Tavistock PL19 0BZ.
