The garden, Moorholme, is in Sparkatown Lane in Dousland, and is a two-acre garden bounded by part of Drake's Leat.
The house dates from 1910 and some of the trees and rhododendrons are thought to have been planted at that time. Further garden development and planting was carried out in the 1950s and intermittently since.
There are lawns, interesting trees, azaleas, rhododendrons, some mixed borders, together with wild flowers and a small vegetable plot.
Other attractions include refreshments, RNLI Souvenirs on sale, an art and craft stall and a treasure hunt for children.
Parking for the open day, from 11am to 4pm, is at Lake Lane 150 yards away.
Admission is £2 for adults and accompanied children under 16, free.
The garden is suitable for disabled visitors and dogs on leads are welcome.
