WEST DEVON'S 'cheesy comedy punk cabaret pop' band The Bus Station Loonies will be attempting to set a new world record by performing the most live gigs in a continuous 12 hour period on Saturday, September 29.
The band will be attempting to set a new world record by successfully performing a single 15-minute set at 25 different venues in Plymouth between noon and midnight for charity, authorised by Guinness World Records.
The event kicks off at 12 noon at HMV Records, Plymouth, with Tavistock's Steve Wilson (BBC TV Live and Kicking) compering. The final gig is being held at 'Tramps' in Plymouth's Bretonside Bus Station with a celebrity to be confirmed.
Various fundraising events will be held throughout the day, including a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses with all proceeds to be donated to the Dame Hannah Rogers School in Ivybridge, to purchase musical instruments for children aged between 8-19 suffering with cerebral palsy, or post accident damage.
Two independent television companies will be filming the whole event with a view to broadcasting a documentary on national television at a later date.
