A Christmas collection by Okehampton and District Lions Club raised a magnificent £1,499.55 to support local charities.

Members of the club braved the winter chill to collect money outside Waitrose and the Co-op store.

The Lions expressed thanks to everyone who donated and to Waitrose and Co-op for allowing the Lions to fundraise outside their stores.
