THERE is a variety of entertainment on offer at Tavistock library in October and November.

On Thursday October 23, the First Tuesday Play Readers will be reading Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas. Free tickets for the event which will start at 7pm are available from the library.

First Tuesday Play readers formed at the beginning of the year and meet once a month at the library.

On Tuesday November 4 Ann Stirland will give her last talk about her work on the Mary Rose. Her talk, entitled 'Raising the Dead' begins at 2.30pm. Tickets costing £1 are available from the library.

All proceeds will be donated to the RNLI.

People who have old or rare books are invited to go along to the library on Wednesday November 12 between 2 and 4pm for a book valuation afternoon.

Free valuations will be given by Peter Churcher who runs the Victorian Book Shop in Bere Alston.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Tavistock Library.
