Bow 3

Okehampton Seconds 3

OKEHAMPTON got of to a shaky start with too many players forgetting their responsibilities and Bow took full advantage against a stretched defence.

Bow took the lead when sloppy tackles were easily beaten and from a good angle Gavin Coles fired home low under Scott Leyman.

Okehampton looked more promising going forward and were rewarded when Bow?s keeper let the ball slip from his hands and Tim Shaw neatly lobbed it into the net from close range.

More shambolic defending gifted Bow their second with another strike from Coles to restore their lead.

Shaw and Dan Pengelly both had chances to score before the break with holes starting to appear in Bow?s defence.

Chris Wills then gave Okehampton the break they deserved with a neat lob over Bow?s back four and Shaw got his second with another deft lob.

The second half saw Matt King and Ben Kimber come on for Pengelly and Chris Drew and both youngsters did well on their senior debuts.

Bow took the lead for a third time when the referee gave a handball against Martyn Letchford.

But Coles with a low free kick then drilled the ball home for a fine hat-trick.

Bow should have finished off Okehampton when they were awarded a penalty for pushing but their young striker fired wide past the post.

Okehampton made Bow pay for their miss when Shaw was pushed in the box at the other end and Chris Wills converted from the spot.

Bow pushed to the final whistle and Leyman pulled of a superb last-gasp save to ensure a share of the points.

This Saturday away against Seaton, 3pm kick-off.
