THE ?LITTLE Big Band? will make their performance debut next week at a dinner and dance concert in Okehampton. The junior band, made up of Year 7 students from Okehampton College, has only recently been formed and will play prior to the main concert by the more established College Big Band. The band will play two sets: the first will be in the ?Come Dancing? 40s big band-style, and the second will feature more modern compositions, such as Wipeout and the theme from Shaft. The dinner and dance concert is taking place next Friday, May 19, in the sports hall at Okehampton College and is being held to raise money for the band. Guests will be able to enjoy a two-course fork buffet with food provided by the college?s catering students. The dinner and dance gets underway at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and are available from college reception.
