IT may have been the middle of the morning when the Times visited the real ale tent, but customers were still flocking in to enjoy the beers of Dartmoor Brewery.
The brewery was selling two beers at the show, Legend, which they have been making since March 2010, and the perennial favourite Jail Ale, which has been on sale 18 years.
The brewery launched Legend following an expansion at their Princetown premises, where two new fermenting vessels, each with a colossal capacity of 14,000 litres, helped the company to expand the existing brands and accommodate the manufacture of the new beer. It is now proving just as popular as its older stablemate.
Tina Ryder, regional sales manager for the brewery said: 'It has been going good so far, with people coming in to try the beer even if it is before noon.
'It turns out that Legend is the one people are trying, and they are loving it. Lots of people have also come in saying that they have never tried real ale before, or not had any for a long time.
'Especially the ladies, who say they drink cider or wine. I think we have some converts though, as many said they loved it.'
The brewery has been attending the show for ten years, and it has proven an important way to meet customers and promote the products.
Tina said: 'We keep coming back and it is increasing year on year for us. The show is right in the middle of our core area where we sell our beers. It helps to spread the brand name, make people aware of the beer and enjoy it.'
