AS part of the Tavistock Music and Arts Festival, Wordquest Devon is hosting the 'Literary Heroes of Devon' writing workshops with local author Myfanwy Cook later this month.

The event will offer a chance to find out about literary greats, such as Sabine Baring-Gould, Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and RF Delderfield and write a letter or postcard to them, as well as a mini story or poem.

Children aged five and upwards can take part in their own workshop finding out about Nick Arnold, Michael Morpurgo and Henry Williamson and write a postcard, letter, poem or word collage. All materials will be provided.

The one-hour workshops will take place in Tavistock Library on Saturday April 23.

Free one-hour slots are available for adults and children but places must be booked due to limited numbers.

The adult workshops, for 16s and over, will be at 9.45am and 11am, children's workshops, under 8s to be accompanied by an adult, will be at 1pm and 2.15pm.

All children taking part will receive a free Easter treat.

Maximum numbers are 16 per workshop.
