Phoenix Club 2
Okehampton Argyle Ladies 1
LISA May made her first start of the season for Okehampton and put in an excellent performance in defence.
Okehampton were by far the stronger team in the first half and deservedly went in front after 35 minutes when Kelly Cooper converted a corner from Dani Turner.
Argyle played some super football with Louise Cook having a great game in midfield. and would have gone into the break with a greater lead if it was not for wasted chances.
The second half however was a different story. Dani picked up an injury after 60 minutes and her solid defending was missed by Oke who were forced to field a make-shift back four. Pheonix looked more lively in the latter stages and their equaliser came with 15 minutes remaining.
Okehampton lacked concentration in the final moments and conceded a penalty on 85 minutes.
Phoenix scored from the spot kick and Jess Burdus was booked for disputing the penalty decision.
