Hooe Youth Rovers U15s 2 Tavistock Town U15s 2 THERE was no official referee, which meant Hooe supplied an unofficial referee for the game. At first things went reasonably well with Lyle putting a shot just over the bar and a Hooe defender clearing off the line but the Hooe linesman started to put his flag up every time Tavistock went forward and with poor officiating things got very difficult for Tavistock. In the 25th minute Hooe scored, which spurred Tavistock on and they duly equalised through Doyle. They scored again moments later but the linesman actually put his flag up for offside after the ball was in the net and the referee disallowed the goal. This decision meant that the half time score was 1-1 and the Tavistock team went out for the second half feeling they were really up against it. The Hooe linesman was changed for the second half but it didn?t stop very poor refereeing and it was Hooe who went ahead a few minutes into the second half. Tavistock were struggling to play good football and although they did have a few near-misses, especially a long range shot from Derbyshire which was saved by the keeper, it looked as though they were going to leave Wembury with no points and a lot of bad feeling. Fortunately, in the dying minutes, Kelly put through an accurate pass to Lyle who coolly placed the ball in the back of the net.
