Duchy Premier Lamerton 5 St Mawgan 1 The game started at a fast pace with Lamerton hitting the woodwork twice inside five minutes. Simon Kelly's accurate cross was met by Kev Swift ten yards out, who guided his header toward the corner but it came back off the post. A minute later Steve Gibbings shook the goal from the same spot with a header against the crossbar. Kelly, a constant threat and working hard down the right, could have scored two as he went through on goal, but he failed to add the finishing touch.   St Mawgan took the lead when the Lamerton midfield and defence opened up like the red sea allowing Nathan Allum to run all the way from his own half, into the Lamerton box. It was an excellent mazy run from the St Mawgan player as he left numerous Lamerton players and he finished it off well into the bottom corner leaving the home side stunned. Lamerton continued to make chances and when Swift turned his man in the box, he was tripped and the referee blew for a penalty. Swift put it away to make it 1-1. Gibbings, threatening again, made it 2-1 with a towering header from Rich Searle's corner, giving the keeper no chance. Swift made it three before half time, latching onto a Dave Gibbings cross from the left and composing himself to beat the keeper from six yards. The second half was extremely relaxed, with St Mawgan failing to make any sort of comeback. Lamerton added further goals through Steve Lake and Rich Searle for a comfortable win. l This Saturday Lamerton are at home to St Dominick, kick-off 2.30pm.
