THE away side showers were not working and Truro allowed Tavistock to use the home dressing room for the match and at the end probably wished the playing surface had been out of action as well.
Manager Steve Hart stuck with the same line up that did so well against Millbrook in the cup the previous week with new signing Andy Wright from Liskeard on the bench.
The Lambs were exposed in the third minute when Adrian Hart was allowed to run with the ball from the half way line to cut inside his marker and drive a low shot past Andy Meeds.
Tavistock had their first attack on the Truro goal on 15 minutes as Lee Cansfield crossed from the by-line but it went right across the front of goal.
Five minutes later the Lambs had another chance to level when Cansfield set up Jon Nichols on the edge of the box but his shot lacked power and the keeper saved easily.
Almost immediately the Lambs found themselves two down when Luke Wort got to the by-line to cross, Meeds got a hand to it but it only allowed the ball to fall at the feet of Hart to slot home for his second. The Lambs came back into the game as the half wore on and Nichols was just off target with a shot that flew over the bar but could have gone in 3 down as a bad pass out of defence found Chris Webb and his shot bounced off Meeds cross bar for a goal kick.
The second half did not start too well for the Lambs with Truro going close on two occasions but they got a goal back on the hour.
Truro's breakout of defence broke down and Danny McTighe sent Dean Tongue away to go around his marker and shoot into the far corner of the net. The come back was short lived and five minutes later Truro regained their 2 goal advantage.
Only a fine save by Andy Meeds kept out a fierce shot from Richard Young for it to go for a corner and when the cross came in Meeds got a fist to it to send it high into the air and Robert Troon headed in from close range.
The Lambs had a good chance on 68 minutes to get another back but from John Gosling's cross Tony Cusack, unchallenged, headed wide of goal.
Steve Hart gambled on a triple substitution on 70 minutes to try and get something out of the game but it was not going to be. Gosling had a goal bound shot blocked before the Lambs got their second right on full time when Wright crossed for Cansfield to head home.
Not a very good display from the Lambs who could not contain a hard working Truro side who deserved the points.
