Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 6 Falmouth 2 THIS was the last league match for Tavistock and it was going to be tough ? Falmouth are top of the league and have lost one match only, against Tavistock. Tavistock has a change of formation in positional play and with the three strongest defenders at the back, Fiona Dunn, Laura Stapleton and Susannah Boulle it was difficult for Falmouth to find the gap. The quick midfield play of Sarah Barratt and Jo Gaspar allowed the ball to be fed up the pitch to Robynne Honey, who drove it down the base line and slotted the first goal. Lisa Butler and Julia Firth were battling well and kept the ball moving through the midfield. Tavistock needed the skill of Laura Armstrong to create more opportunities and she did her job well. Boulle and Stapleton held up players and Dunn was the last player to deal with them should they enter the D. Falmouth were struggling to find a way past the halfway line which resulted in the ball being taken from them by Gaspar. She struck it out to Honey who scored the second goal. Judy Miller had a better game in the second-half and was more goal hungry, resulting in her scoring the fourth.
