THE game started well with both sides eager to show their skills and game play.
The first goal attempt by Ottery resulted in a short corner which was saved by Oke player Brieze Read. Oke then kept possession and captain Sophie Whiteley moved it up the pitch to Amanda Sim, who crossed the ball into the circle and resulted in two short corners - which Ottery thwarted both attempts.
Lovely play by Amanda and Jo Thompson led to Maria Jones having a one to one with the Ottery goalie who managed to kick the ball away.
Down the other end Oke goalkeeper Jennie Humphry had a one to one with the Ottery captain, who wasted the chance with a bad shot.
The first goal came from Okehampton when Winnie Rademaker found space and carefully crossed it in for player Sophie Cunnington to score.
Ottery came back strong and a good pass by an Ottery player to her captain, let her wrong foot the Oke goalie and hit in it the back of the net.
In the second half, both teams came out strong and Katy Graves made many good crosses into the circle and had good attempts at goal. Great distribution from the left by Oke player Nicola Stoneman crossed the ball into the circle and Annette Goswell popped it into the back of the net.
Minutes later the Ottery captain equalised and despite good defence by Katie Adams the captain scored again giving her a hat-trick.
Oke's play then stepped up a gear. Tara Davidson dominated the right half linking well with Jo and providing some crucial tackles and penetrating hits into the circle to Jill Williams.
On the left side Brieze, Nicola, Sophie C and Winnie provided excellent team work and a perfectly placed strike from Jill made the scores equal.
In the last ten minutes Oke attacked the Ottery goal with shot after shot being desperately blocked by the Ottery defence. Great play from joint players of the match Tara and Sophie C finally led to the keeper saving Winnie's final last effort but it was rebounded by Jill before it went into the goal.
