CROWNDALE opened the gates to their brand new football pitches last Saturday. All the pitches were used apart from the large adult pitch, which was used on the Sunday by Tavistock Community Football Club U18s.
Spectators, officials and players all commented on the cleanliness, efficiency and overall excellent standard of the facility.
Crowndale has been a very long time coming. The seed was planted some 15 years ago by a small committee who called themselves the Crowndale Recreational Association.
Their initiative has finally come to fruition after several years of fundraising and accessing grant money from the Football Foundation, WDBC and Tavistock Town Council. The work finally began and Tavistock Community Football Club ably took over the reins.
The grand opening is taking place on November 21 and invites will be coming out to all those who had a part in this wonderful new football facility.
