Kelly College U13 Rugby Sevens

KELLY were in pool A with Tavistock College, Heles and Eggbuckland. They beat Heles with ease, Harry Wyatt proving he is one of the fastest wingers in his year group.

Tavistock College was a hard game and the final score was 19-5. Against Eggbuckland George Hall took the reins at scrum half and Oli Thomas controlled the play at fly half. Another win by 28 points to 5.

Kelly went through as winners of the pool to meet Tavistock College, who had won the play-off, in the semi-final.

The game started badly for Kelly as Tavistock had increased in skill and tenacity. At half time, Kelly were behind but with determination and strong runs by the forwards James Smith, Sam Twaites and Lorne Bell, they won by two clear tries.

The final was against Plymouth College. Plymouth scored then Kelly twice and then Plymouth. In the second half, Kelly let in an easy try to go behind but came back strongly with two tries, one converted giving enough of a cushion to keep Plymouth at bay. The final score was Kelly 26, Plymouth 19, and Kelly College as the West Devon Champions.
