Okehampton Ladies 3
Brixham Ladies 2
ALTHOUGH team captain Linda Cann was absent, Okehampton Ladies played in a match that could be a contender for game of the season.
The teams were well matched and Brixham took advantage with the first goal.
Despite numerous shots at goal from the home team, Brixham scored again to make it 2-0 after 40 minutes' play. Okehampton were quickly away from the centre kick and Jessica Burdus, on the right wing, went on the attack. The keeper came out, allowing Burdus to pass the ball to Sarah Rew who smashed it into the open goal.
After half-time Okehampton took further control. Their second goal came after Burdus' shot rebounded from the goal towards Rew, who knocked it into the back of the net to make it 2-2.
The home team continued to play great football, with many chances of taking the lead. Okehampton finally got their break when Kelly Cooper beat four players and the keeper to make the score 3-2.
Although the winning goal was a superb individual effort, the whole team won this game. It was a tough decision for player of the match as everyone performed really well. In the end the manager chose Jessica Burdus.
Okehampton Ladies: Gina Burdus, Sammy Burdus, Kate Shannon, Ceri Chapman, Miki Burdus, Kerry Drew, (45) Becky Walker, Hayley Vincent, Karen Fuell, Jessica Burdus, Sarah Rew, Kelly Cooper.
