Tavistock Ladies' seconds 3 Plymouth Uni seconds 2 TAVISTOCK travelled to Lipson to play the university side, who came out very strongly with an experienced team, scoring within the first few minutes of the game. Despite this Tavistock continued to battle with aggressive defending from Jenny Pollock, Bridget Passmore, Babs Horton and Ratty Stanyer. Tavistock received a short corner, which was passed around the D and finished on the post by Georgie Killingbeck. The first half finished 2-1 to Plymouth University. This score did not faze Tavistock but encouraged them to come out stronger and faster. The second half saw Tavistock in a completely different light, the defence was more fierce with constant impressive saves from keeper Lizzie Tilley. The midfield of Flo Huntington Whitley, Ellie Evans and Georgie, held strong, pushing forward creating another short corner for Tavistock. This was conducted well with a straight strike from top D by Kate Eadie, making the score 2-2. Tavistock would not accept a draw, neither would their few but loud spectators on the sideline. Andrea Goodall, Els Mills-Hicks and Kate, Tavistock's forwards, battled continuously. The last five minutes of the game saw Georgie have an incredible run down the wing from the halfway line with an excellent cross to Kate to finish with the final goal of the game.
