OKEHAMPTON Junior Golf players continued their excellent start to the season with a close fought home win over Teign Valley on Sunday, May 8. James Weller seems to be inspired as junior captain as he gave the team a great start with a 5 and 4 victory. Jonny Rattenbury continued his excellent form with another 5 and 4 victory to put Okehampton 2-0 up in the first two matches. Oli Kirby came back from 2 down with 3 to play to halve his match on the eighteenth for what would prove a vital half point. Teign Valley fought back with wins in matches 4 and 5 to leave everything hanging on the last match. Jonny Weller, playing his first club match for over a year showed no nerves as he wrapped it up on the 16th with a 4 and 2 win to give Okehampton a 3 1/2 to 2 1/2 victory.
