TO coincide with National Dyslexia Awareness Week this October, Tavistock College will be hosting an evening of informative talks on dyslexia.
People with dyslexia usually have trouble with spelling, reading and planning written work. Around 10% of the British population are dyslexic. It affects people of all ages and can present challenges when learning, working or in family life.
Sometimes dyslexia is hidden and so better awareness of the condition is important. Through screening, support strategies and innovative technologies the barriers that dyslexia can create may be overcome.
Speakers at the event include Jim Barnicott, special educational needs coordinator at Tavistock College and other dyslexia specialists. The event is free and open to anyone interested in dyslexia, light refreshments will be available.
