Tavistock Police have noted an increase in thefts from motor vehicles in rural car parks. As the weather starts to improve and people start to frequent local beauty spots more often, moorland and isolated car parks are being increasingly hit with opportunist thefts.

Police urge vehicle owners to be vigilant and not to leave any valuable items on show, advising those who are going to hide anything in their car to do so before they get to the car park as thieves will often watch vehicle owners hiding things and know where to look.
