Tavistock Seconds 5

Plymouth Parkway

Seconds 2

TAVISTOCK entertained Plymouth Parkway in a must-win match at Langsford Park on Saturday and proved worthy winners.

They took the lead halfway through the first half when Lee Fitzsimmons headed the ball into the path of Steve Daymond for the striker to smash it into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

Parkway hit back with a fine strike. Tavistock regained the lead when Fitzsimmons laid the ball into Daymond?s path for the striker to chip the keeper.

Parkway were awarded a penalty for handball and Tavistock?s keeper Craig Howells produced a

superb save, diving full length and tipping the ball onto the cross-bar and out for a corner.

This knocked Tavistock into life and they took the lead for a third time five minutes later when a long free kick by Pete Gibson caused chaos in the visitors? penalty area, allowing Paul Hocking to smash home the loose ball.

Hosking made the game safe when he connected superbly with a Daymond cross, giving Tavistock a two-goal lead. There was still time for Hosking to complete his hat-trick when Daymond rounded the visitors? keeper and crossed for Hosking to score in an unguarded net.

Man of the match: Lee Howells.
