TAVISTOCK were needing a win to secure a position in the league and knew that this encounter against the higher positioned Cornish men was going to be a tough encounter.

Tavistock were fielding a strong squad but with recent forced squad changes, the pattern was missing.

The home side struggled to get their passing accuracy working and continued to give the ball away and went down to an early breakaway goal.

The work rate was good but the structure was not evident. Tavistock scraped themselves into the game with a goal from Sam North and were soon ahead again via a good score from Lovett.

St Austell kept their work rate high and were again on level terms following a speedy break away from a Tavistock attack.

Minutes from the end Tavistock thought they had sewn the game up when they took the lead again via Heard, but due to a lack of structure gave the advantage away and shared the points with the point hungry Cornish men.
