A WANT-to-be model needs Times readers' help to get through a national modelling contest to be in the Grid Girls Calendar 2010.
Tania Coker, from Yelverton, is one of 50 girls who have made it through the first round of the competition to be a 'Grid Girl', and now needs people to vote her through to the next round.
Tania, 20, has always wanted to be a model but has only recently started to pursue the idea.
She said: 'It's only really over the last couple of years that it's something I've really wanted to try, and actually thought I could do.'
As well as entering the Grid Girls competition last year, Tania has also entered other modelling competitions.
'Last year I entered the same competition as I thought it would be a great experience, I also entered the Glamour Girl of the Year competition and reached the semi-finals by people voting for me, and Zoo's Behind Closed Doors competition where I have won the chance to have a photo shoot for the magazine.'
Tania is currently studying for a degree in sports therapy at UCP Marjon in Plymouth and works part-time at Betfred in Tavistock.
She said: 'I want to be a model because I think it's a great experience while I am young and able to do it, as hopefully I will get to travel and meet new people.'
The Grid Girls 2010 Calendar Search is run by The Kerri Parker Academy, set up by former page three model Kerri Parker, which helps new models get started out in the industry. The competition is split into six rounds and the public vote for their favourite models. The top two in each round will go into the team of 12 calendar girls. The competition will be running live on the Academy website in the Grid Girls section until January 30.
The 12 winners will become Grid Girls, working for Foxhill Motocross and the British Super-bike Championship, holding umbrellas over the riders, taking pictures with the fans and handing out trophies.
Tania will find out how she has done in the competition at the beginning of February.
To vote for Tania in the competition, text Girl 005 to 60040 or call 0901 3078000 and enter 005 when prompted.
Texts cost 50p plus the standard network rate, calls are charged at 50p from BT land lines.
