AT the climax of the Medway modern pentathlon World Cup, on Sunday was a great day for the British team, and a good test for Tavistock's Heather Fell who finished in 13th place.
Heather, from Merrivale, was joint 24th with British team mates Freyja Prentice and Kate French, all with 15 wins, but moved up a few positions in the pool, climbing from 24th to 20th with a swim of 2 mins 17 secs.
The Beijing 2008 Olympian then climbed from 20th to 13th with her riding, by producing one of only two clear rounds in the allowed time to add the perfect 1,200 points to her score.
Overall, Heather started slowly with five wins and 10 defeats from her first 15 contests, but dug deep to work her way up the leader board finishing at 13th with 5036 points.
Heather's team mate Mhairi Spence led the British team overall in the pentathlon, winning a bronze World Cup medal.
