THE academic year began at Tavistock's Mount House School with the announcement that Wilf Hadow will be the new head boy, and Flora Wordie this year's head girl (pictured right).

Wilf , who lives at Hexworthy, has proved himself to be a good all-rounder at Mount House. In addition to his academic achievements, he represented the school at colts level at cricket, and captained both the football and hockey teams.

Flora, whose family near South Brent, has achieved good academic standards, and has shown particular strengths in music.

She joined the school's Chapel Choir last year, and her appointment as joint head chorister for this year was announced recently.
