THE Lambs had enough of the play and created enough chances to win more comfortably than they did.
But it was the visitors who almost opened the scoring when Darren Clatworthy latched on to Andy Parnowski's back header to Andy Meeds. The Tavistock keeper saved the defender's blushes with a great save.
The home side then had three good chances to open the scoring. Gary Williams saw his shot saved at point-blank range by Bodmin keeper James Handley and as it rebounded and John Gosling's follow up sailed over the bar, Darren Halfyard headed on for Danny McTighe to race away, only for Handley to turn his shot away for a corner. Darren Babb was unlucky as his header flashed wide from a James Cole corner.
Bodmin attacked just prior to half time but Craig Hodge turned away a dangerous cross for the visitor's first corner of the game. From it Hooper shot wide from the edge of the area.
They introduced substitute Jon May after the interval and it was he who came nearest to scoring after going around Meeds only to shoot into the side netting from an acute angle.
It was not until 12 minutes from the end before the Lamb's finally unlocked the Bodmin defence. Man of the match Chris Kiely struck a fierce shot from distance, which Handley could not hold. Halfyard poached to slam the ball into the net from 12 yards to give the Lambs the lead they thoroughly deserved. Five minutes later Hadley brought off a great save as he stopped Swigg's header from point-blank range.
A hard fought victory for the Lambs, which they should have won at a canter had they stuck away their chances. But one goal was enough and it brought an unbeaten run for the whole of October, which sees them go up the table to sixth place.
