MEMBERS of Girlguiding Tavistock are getting ready for their Christmas postal service within Tavistock and Whitchurch.

Over the last few years, members have delivered around 7,000 cards and are keen to see if, with more public support, they can increase this in 2013.

The delivery scheme works by customers purchasing blue Christmas Post stamps, at 20p each, from Girlguiding members or from various retail outlets, including Cards for Good Causes in Kingdon House, Lake Pharmacy in West Street, Pillars Newsagents in Duke Street, Superdrug in Duke Street, Tavistock Launderette on the outskirts of the Pannier Market, Spar Stores in Ford Street and Dartmoor Photographic in Brook Street.

Special blue postboxes are also located at these outlets as well as in Tavistock Methodist Church and the guide HQ at the entrance to Bedford Car Park.

The cards are sorted by members of Girlguiding Tavistock and then delivered in time for Christmas.

Last posting will be 5pm on Friday, December 20, after which the cards will be bundled up ready for delivery over the weekend of December 20 and 21.

To avoid disappointment, customers are requested to ensure that envelopes are correctly and clearly addressed.
