Tavistock RFC U15s 18
Liskeard and Looe
U15s 27
Tavistock took the early initiative and opened the scoring via Ed Longden's penalty. Liskeard, however, responded positively with three first half tries and one conversion and put Tavistock on the back foot.
Tavistock reduced the deficit, following excellent forward play and an outstanding kick by David Lunn to release Richie Coker for a try of genuine quality, making it 8-17 in favour of Liskeard and Looe.
Forward play was once again the key positive to a combative second half; Pete Meachin at number eight for Tavistock dominated the centre ground and he was rewarded for his efforts with a well worked try.
Liskeard/Looe, however, proved resilient in defence and restricted Tavistock for much of the second half, and with several loose passes and missed tackles were able to run in a further two tries.
Tavistock responded with grit and determination and Richie Coker scored a second try. The forwards dominated the final quarter with notable performances by Sam Jessop, Zak Cinnamond and Danny Gibson, but were unable to add to their score, despite having a try disallowed. Players of the match for Tavistock were Pete Meachin and Richie Coker .
