Lockie Cup Saltash 15 Tavistock 2nd 16 AFTER a successful season in which Tavistock have lost just two games, they went to Saltash to take on their first team with great confidence. Despite the leadership of Wakem and Credicott Tavistock started slowly and went 5-0 down. But they hit back with a Bridgewater penalty, then went in front when Mark Baker burst through Saltash?s defence to score near the post. After sustained pressure from Saltash Tavistock gave a soft try away and the home side scored to make it 10-10 at half-time. Pressure from Tavistock back row of Tom Dawe, Jake Philips and Paul Wilkins helped them take the lead again with two more Bridgewater penalties. Tavistock held on after great pressure from Saltash with some fine defending. They gave away another penalty but it was not enough and they held out for a great victory to see them into the final.
