TAVISTOCK customers of the Woodside Animal Welfare Trust charity shop have raised an amazing £800 to help care for abandoned pets.

Since opening last November, the charity shop in North Street has had a tremendous response to an appeal for any unwanted foreign or UK currency.

Woodside founder Carole Bowles said: ?Our Elfordleigh sanctuary only exists through the generosity of the general public and Tavistock supporters have really turned up trumps. The Tavistock input has been phenomenal over such a short period.?

Maggie Gynn, of Caseytown, who runs the Tavistock charity shop said: ?We?ve had a tremendous wave of support. Please keep this unwanted currency coming in ? it?s a lifesaver.?
