Because of the credit crisis the rescue centres are full to bursting, with many more cats and dogs waiting for kennel space, the problem being that the family pet is the first to go as people tighten their belts.
So all the donations are most gratefully received.
We are still collecting old mobile phones and spent ink cartridges which can either be taken to Wingletang Rescue Centre, Brentor, or given to me in Tavistock Pannier Market on a Friday.
The total money collected on a Friday for the past year, 2008, comes to £178.24.
Wingletang Rescue Centre is part of the Margaret Green rescue centres which are based in Dorset.
If you are thinking of getting a dog or cat in the New Year, please try the rescue centres first.
Once again, many thanks to everyone who donated. Every little bit helps.
