IN the first four months of 2015 Okehampton United Charity and Okehampton Educational Foundation have allocated more than £82,111 to directly benefit Okehampton and its four hamlets' residents.

This is broken down into 18 different grants to groups or organisations and eight individual grants to support local students with scholarships or bursaries.

The Mary Budding Trust, Room 13, Okehampton Primary School, Lewdown Cricket Club and Okehampton and District Duke of Edinburgh's Awards have all received grants from Okehampton Educational Foundation to purchase equipment, support local projects, refurbish play areas or train local volunteers.

The band Downfall, ORIG, Time For Life, Okehampton MPL Cricket Club, Okehampton Hockey Club ladies, Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon CAB, Tor Support Services, Learn Devon, Okehampton Ladies Argyle Football Club, Good Neighbours Magazine and Wren Music have all benefited from grants to support projects, core running costs, relocations and new equipment.
