Vospers O V . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .3

The Lambs came back from almost a month of no action due to the weather to record a comfortable if not convincing victory over the bottom of the table club.

They got off to the perfect start with two goals inside the first two minutes.

Tavistock's keeper Chris Howell's pass out of defence went to Pete Gibson who found Steve Brownlow down the wing and he cut in to send a shot across the keeper.

From the restart the home side regained possession for Steve Daymond to go through the middle and slip the ball over the keeper into the net.

It would appear that the flood gates would open and the Lambs would go on to score at will but it took until the 43rd minute before they found the net again.

Mark Cunningham's flick on in mid field found Darren Halfyard in space to coolly lob the keeper.

In between the visitors almost capitalised twice on sloppy defensive work and the Lambs saw Vospers' keeper in trouble as he fumbled a cross onto the bar and had a certain goal cleared off the line.

In the first minute of the second half Brownlow saw his shot bounce off the cross bar before the visitors clawed one back.

Former Lambs manager Barry Jackson went tumbling in the area for Graham West to score from the spot.

Howells came to the Lambs' rescue to prevent West when clean through before they regained their three goal cushion.

Halfyard put Rob Hawkins away just inside the Vospers half for him to go on and round the keeper to slot into an empty net

A mistake from a throw-in allowed Vospers to attack to send the ball into the area and there was Chris Valentine to sweep it past Howells.

Tavistock were soon three goals to the good again when Halfyard received a throw-in to go forward and from fully thirty yards unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

Back came the visitors yet again and it was Valentine sending in a cross come shot that sailed over a helpless Howells to complete the scoring.

The last fifteen minutes was all Tavistock with Gibson having a shot cleared off the line and Craig Hodge shooting wide from six yards after a Lambs corner.

A rather rusty performance from the Lambs who were disappointed with their display but not the result.

It keeps the pressure on the leaders Plympton who could only manage a draw against the University.
