May I express my, my . . . my (almost) speechlessness at recent comments by Geoffrey Cox in your paper (Letters, September 25)?

Mr Cox writes, in his capacity as the Tory Party's parliamentary candidate, about the situation affecting rural post offices. What has flummoxed me is that for the first time ever I am in total agreement with every word he has to say; no involuntary fits of laughter at his utterings . . . just complete agreement.

This has caused some concern to me, however. I am sat here wondering if someone has brought April Fools' Day forward without telling me, or perhaps, unlikely as it sounds, Mr Cox has finally managed to say something sensible?

Nice one, Geoff, it's only taken you, how many years to manage it? A fiver says he can't repeat the trick between now and the next election.
