A HARVEST auction held by Bridestowe, Lydford and Sourton Pre-School was an overwhelming success at the weekend with £1,237 raised for the local primary schools.

Well over 100 lots were sold at the event in the Fox and Hounds pub at Sourton on Saturday evening, ranging from pine beds to home-made jumpers, vegetables boxes, cakes and wine.

Secretary of the pre-school Vanessa Pearce said it was a fantastic evening: ?On behalf of the pre-school I would like to thank all the individuals and businesses who contributed items for the auction and all the people who attended and supported it,? she said.

The money will be donated to primary schools in Bridestowe and Lydford.
