Chagford seconds v Plymouth fourths

DESPITE the heavy rain conditions cleared at Chagford, and a prompt start was possible as the home side batted first.

Although Whittingham (11) departed quickly, a partnership of 69 between Pete Holland and Gofton (26) put  Chagford in a good position 89-2, Holland was dismissed for 65 and with contributions of 24 by Jules Baker and 23 not out by skipper Simon Snell Chagford reached 189-7 in 46 overs. Hughes was out-standing for Plymouth with 5-54 and opening bowler backed him up with 2-36. The Plymouth reply was steady, Moss bowling his 13 overs wicketless for just 26 runs, Rothwell was the first to go for 10 with the score at 31. Bornes was next to go at 54 and then only Cunnington 10 and Thomas with 26no were the only Plymouth batsmen to reach double figures before Chagford bowled them out for 44.5 overs. 

Rob Gofton making a return to bowling was outstanding with for 4-19, backed up by Nigel Letheren with 3-10. Chagford 19pts, Plymouth 4. Chagford seconds are now fourth in the table.
